    The end of the sixties brought with it many changes, but one that went unnoticed by most people was the complete reinvention of Fame Recording Studios. To ensure his own future, owner Rick Hall was working hard to make a new connection with a major label, and found a suitor with Capitol Records. Unbeknownst to him, though, the session musicians who played on virtually every hit recording that emanated from Fame over the past five years had plans of their own. While Hall was shopping for a deal, the session musicians were making plans of their own, setting up shop with the help of Hall’s nemesis, Jerry Wexler of Atlantic Records. It was a betrayal that Hall would find difficult to forgive, and the two studios went head to head trying to attract new business for the many musicians who came to Muscle Shoals for a piece of its magic.

    With this show, we cover the history of the transition, and play a few tracks from each studio while they tried to outdo one another. Featured tracks include;

    Me – Otis Rush
