By the Spring of 1964, the British Invasion was in full swing, with the Beatles apparently everywhere at the same time.

Motown was rapidly becoming the ‘sound of young America’ by redefining R&B music, while the Beach Boys represented the West Coast, providing competition for all the English groups that were invading our shores. With warm weather setting in and an entirely new season of music on the horizon, there was no better time to own a portable radio.
