Transistor Days: Summer 1964
Episode 28
Episode date - July 3, 2020
…and what a Summer it was, especially if you were under eighteen (I was five, and it was still one of my all-time favorite Summers).
With the Beatles and Motown competing for chart dominance and the British Invasion starting to overwhelm the charts, not to mention the Beach Boys seemingly getting more interesting with each single, the future looked bright once again.
Rock and roll was back with a vengeance, with a new R&B edge added, for good measure. Even Chuck Berry was back on the charts!
