All of the hype that was directed at the Summer of 1967 must have been built on some level of reality, because it is now taking us three entire shows to cover the best parts of pop music from that magical season.

Granted, things did occasionally get quite out of hand (as our opening track amply proves) but the ratio of outstanding tracks to ordinary ones remained quite high, making this the season to beat in terms of classic pop.

    Featured tracks include:

San Franciscan Nights – Eric Burden and the Animals

Brown Eyed Girl – Van Morrison

Baby You’re a Rich Man – The Beatles

To Sir With Love – Lulu

It Must Be Him – Vicki Carr

How Can I Be Sure – The Young Rascals

(You’re Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher – Jackie Wilson

I Dig Rock and Roll Music – Peter, Paul and Mary

    Dandelion – The Rolling Stones

Memphis Soul Stew – King Curtis

The Rain, The Park and Other Things – The Cowsills

A Natural Woman – Aretha Franklin
