After the Beatles broke through in America, it felt as though the pop charts moved from black and white to technicolor.

Suddenly, pop songs seemed so much more vivid and colorful. Once again, there was both energy and diversity. With Motown leading the charge from the American side of the Atlantic and a British ‘Invasion’ starting to attack our shores, AM pop radio became essential listening.

Suddenly, music developed a ‘pre-Beatle’ and ‘post-Beatle’ scenario, and a lot of great artists got lost in the transition, but for the younger generation, pop music once again seemed glorious.

    Featured songs include:

Fun, Fun, Fun – The Beach Boys

    California Sun – The Rivieras

I Only Want to Be with You – Dusty Springfield

I Wish You Love – Gloria Lynne
