    Last week, we took a close look at a few ‘progressive albums from April ’74.

    This week, we stick to the exact same timeframe, but we change styles.

    It may not seem unusual from today’s perspective, but back in ’74, it seemed s though rock and roll had exploded into thousands of shards, each going in a different direction. It was nearly impossible to hear everything, much less appreciate all of it, but here we feature a few albums that have precious little in common, except perhaps that it took years for me to appreciate all of them.

    Tracks include;

    1) Diamond Dogs – David Bowie (“Diamond Dogs”)

    2) Rebel Rebel – David Bowie (“Diamond Dogs”)

    3) Stone County – Johnny Winter (Saints and Sinners”)

    4) Don’t Change Horses – Tower of Power (Back to Oakland”)

    5) Time Will Tell – Tower of Power (Back to Oakland”)

    6) The Calvary Cross – Richard and Linda Thompson (“I Want to See the Bright Lights Tonight”)

    7) Withered and Died – Richard and Linda Thompson (“I Want to See the Bright Lights Tonight”)

    8) The Little Beggar Girl – Richard and Linda Thompson (“I Want to See the Bright Lights Tonight”)

    9) The End of the Rainbow – Richard and Linda Thompson (“I Want to See the Bright Lights Tonight”)

    10) Candidate – David Bowie (“Diamond Dogs”)
