The British Invasion: Early 1969
Episode 23
Episode date - February 4, 2011
This show brings us very near the end of our coverage of the British Invasion (next week will be our final show).
This late in the game, it isn’t always easy to clearly identify that which is British from that which is American. Also, the ‘sound’ of the British Invasion that made it so identifiable in 1964-65 ceased to exist by 1969. Nonetheless, there is still plenty of great material emanating from the British Isles in early 1969, so our coverage continues with the following tracks;
1) Those Were the Days – Mary Hopkin
2) Kentucky Woman – Deep Purple
3) Build Me Up Buttercup – The Foundations
4) I Started a Joke – The Bee Gees
5) Time of the Season – The Zombies
6) Crossroads – Cream
7) First of May – The Bee Gees
8) Get Back – The Beatles
9) Don’t Let Me Down – The Beatles
10) Atlantis – Donovan
11) Goodbye – Mary Hopkin
