​From the moment that Roger Waters abandoned the group, it was obvious that things would not be the same, but while Roger continued to dig deeper into his themes and also had taken on some very ambitious projects, the remaining bandmembers lost a good deal of their mojo.

Not to say that all of their music post-Waters was unambitious, but it definitely lacked the acerbic focus of their work when they were together. By the time the millennium rolled around, though, it’s hard to understand what was stimulating David Gilmour, Richard Wright or Nick Mason.

This show consists of excerpts from three albums, and as much as I hate to say it, there really isn’t much here to stimulate the fans in a manner that could even barely be compared to their classic work in the 1970s. 

​This episode features music from David Gilmour’s “On an Island,” his “Live in Gdansk” release, and finally, Pink Floyd’s swan song as a group, “The Endless River”. It’s a sad ending for a remarkable band. I chose the songs that I considered to have some value, but to be honest, between the redundant repetition of older material  that we’ve already covered in better form and the lack of inspiration in the new material, it was slim pickings. I will do my best to keep you awake for the next hour.
