By the mid-nineties, Pink Floyd and Roger Waters appeared to be as distanced as two musical acts could possibly be.

The remaining members of Pink Floyd were working overtime to save the name of their group by revisiting their history (and Roger’s) with a live album containing songs from their entire catalog, while Roger produced…an opera (!!) with a theme based on the French Revolution.

Sadly, most of the rock fans ignored it (which I suppose was not too surprising to any of the parties involved, including Roger), but nevertheless, remains a remarkably ambitious work.
