Somehow, despite the distractions and day by day difficulties that might have suppressed Aretha Franklin’s creativity, she continued to rise to new artistic heights.
As the seventies culture began to change everything reminiscent of the sixties, Ms. Franklin was on top of it all. Somehow, her popularity continued to soar, as it spread among all varieties of musical taste, while breaking down societal barriers. This may have been her most fruitful era, with hit songs seemingly popping up from nowhere. This show features no less than EIGHT (!!) top 40 singles from 1971.
