    As 1968 unfolded, it followed the same basic form as 1967, but with a bit less patchouli oil and paisley.

    Judging by the pop charts, the times seemed to be almost straightlaced and conservative, but with creativity still holding strong. Singles were still giving albums a run for the money, and in terms of longevity, singles actually seemed to have an edge over their long-playing competition.
