By covering these albums chronologically, it is very easy to see how quickly things changed circa 1967.

Just two months into the year, we already see a hard turn away from folk-based music styles and toward psychedelic sounds. Like just about every music group in the United States, Jefferson Airplane started out with influences stemming from folk music, but they changed on a dime in 1967, and the entire west coast soon the followed suit.

For a short while, Jefferson Airplane were leaders, standing on the cutting edge of contemporary styles.
