By 1969, Jimi was struggling to retain his band while simultaneously happy to play with as many qualified players as possible.

At this point, he bounded back and forth between sessions and live performances with the Experience, other sessions and live performances with different players and even some solo work. This is just a small sample of what he was up to in the months before he closed out the Woodstock Festival.
