…and here, finally, is part one of what has become one of the most legendary live performances of all time.

Considering the focus that has been placed on Hendrix and his appearance at Woodstock, it is only natural for one to assume that he was performing before a massive crowd at its peak, but that most certainly is not the case. The schedule ran significantly overtime, which pushed Hendrix’s performance to Sunday morning, after the Saturday rainstorm that disrupted things and after about 75% of the crowd had already dispersed. Nevertheless, the legend survives, and here is the first half.
