In recent times, Cat Stevens had become one of the most misunderstood artists to ever have a successful career as a pop artist in America.

Quite understandably, the United States government and its population became very sensitive to the motivations of Islamic extremists, and that sensitivity made us overtly protective and suspicious of those who plainly adapted Islamic faith, particularly if they did so in a manner that seemed extreme, by Western standards.

For this reason, the music of Cat Stevens fell out of favor for quite a while, but over time it became quite obvious that he held any act of violence as an aberration of his faith. Slowly, his music became acceptable once again, which is beautiful because his music is both beautiful and inspirational.
