The Rolling Stones: Out Of Our Heads
Album #48 - September 1965
Episode date - April 27, 2016
“Out of Our Heads” is the fourth album released in the U.S. by the Rolling Stones, so we already had plenty of opportunities to hear the band, but this is the album that introduced the Rolling Stones to everybody in America, not just a few well-informed kids.
Before this, album, the Stones had a few top 40 hits, but this album put them on a level where they were seriously compared with The Beatles. To this day, a huge number of chart compilers and list makers point to “Satisfaction” as the quintessential rock and roll single, often pointed to as the best rock and roll song of all time. It represents the point where Mick Jagger and Keith Richard’s songwriting finally came into full fruition, and from this point forward, there was no looking back.
