This is a show that should have happened ten years ago, or maybe even further back. We are WAY overdue for this show.

Bill Macintyre has been here at the station before my own tenure began and considering that I can’t even remember how long I’ve been here and known and befriended Bill, that’s saying something. For as long as we’ve been friends, Bill’s been playing actively with Bad Mary, and somehow (I honestly cannot even recall) I’ve come to know the other bandmembers as well.

Amanda and her husband Mike have performed numerous times with my own musical organization (NYRMA), and their talents are both astounding and inspirational. Guitarist David Henderson is world class at what he does, weaving rhythmic power and brain worm riffs as if it were 1979 in 2079…all over again. I love all of them. I instantly respected this band from the first time I witnessed a live performance, and I can say without hesitation that I am deeply proud to call them close friends of mine, but that is not the reason that they are guests on our show. Heidy and I are flattered and humbled to have them with us, because I can honestly say that Bad Mary represents some of the best live music you’re likely to find on Long Island, but I sell them short when I say that, because their reputation goes far beyond the borders of our island.

Bad Mary has spanned the globe in terms of influence. Ask their Japanese fans, for instance. This is a tight-knit family unit that understands the power of communication music offers, especially in this mixed-up world, and they have the chops and the personalities to help us save it! A lot of talent and a boatload of love brings us here to this moment, so I will leave it at that, and let them be who they are. It’s worth your time to listen, and enjoy!
