    For years, I equated the British Invasion with 1964. As this series is starting to make quite plain, British presence and influence on our pop charts lasted considerably longer than that one fateful year.

    We’ve already heard from most of the major players, but there’s still plenty of history. For instance, the Rolling Stones just started to hit their stride in the Summer of 1965. The Kinks still had some of their best hits ahead of them, and we’ve barely mentioned the Hollies yet.

    I can already tell that our coverage is bound to take us at least to the end of 1966, and maybe a bit beyond that. I’m looking forward to all of it, and I hope you are too.

    Songs featured in today’s show include;

    1) Set Me Free – The Kinks

    2) Here Comes the Night – Them

    5) Catch Us if You Can – The Dave Clark Five
