By the Spring of 1965, the British Invasion was taken for granted by most Americans. Instead of being a novelty, we simply presumed that England was the center of the universe for cool music.

This show conveys the reason why we came to think this way. After being inundated with more than a year of U.K. bands supplying an endless series of great singles – singles that seemed to get better and better with each passing month – we simply grew accustomed to it, and expected innovation on a regular basis.

The Beatles remained at the helm, but the competition grew more and more interesting with each passing month.

This show captures the British Invasion at an artistic peak, a peak that it would manage to maintain its grip on the music scene for at least another year. Songs featured today include:
