The Roliing Stones: Deliver Satisfaction
Episode 9
Episode date - October 11, 2013
Right here is where rock and roll changed forever. “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” may not have had the same immediate impact as “She Loves You” did one and a half years earlier, but its lasting impact is immeasurable.
The attitude of each of these songs is infinitely different. The Beatles shocked America by reintroducing rock and roll. The Rolling Stones blew America away by incorporating blues ideas with an attitude that defied every single cultural norm. Suddenly, due mostly to “Satisfaction”, the generation gap was impassable. Rock and Roll defined the insurmountable distance from traditional society and a newer, rebellious, dismissive and much younger society. The game was on.
What is more amazing is how, almost overnight, the original songs composed by Jagger-Richard were infinitely more relevant than the blues tunes they struggled so hard to emulate.
Here is where it began;

2) The Under Assistant West Coast Promotion Man

4) Hitch Hike
5) That’s How Strong My Love Is
6) Good Times
7) Cry To Me
8) The Spider and the Fly
9) One More Try
10) She Said Yeah
11) Gotta Get Away
12) Talkin’ About You
