Using their background in American Blues and R&B, they drew musical muscle from that inspiration and coupled it with lyrics that brilliantly captured the frustration of youth. Utilizing that same formula, Jagger/Richard concocted “Get Off of My Cloud” and “19th Nervous Breakdown,” two stunning pieces of anti-society diatribes that provided fertile ground for the rebellious nature that would soon define the youth movement of the ‘60s.
