June 1970
Episode date - June 9, 2010
Either I’m obsessed, with a prejudice to the music of my own youth, or the early ‘70s really were a golden age for popular music. We just finished doing a pair of shows on music from May 1970, and here it is – another month, another series of shows covering great music from 1970.
Most decades won’t allow me to do that, because there simply isn’t enough good music from a specific month to carry a whole show. So far, we’ve two shows for each month from 1970…see you next month as we cover album tracks from this very same month.
Meanwhile, here are the songs we cover in this show are;
The Love You Save – The Jackson 5
Ball of Confusion – The Temptations
Ooh Child – The Five Stairsteps
Gimme Dat Ding – The Pipkins (as a ‘Bad Hit’)
Teach Your Children – Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
Soolaimon – Neil Diamond
Vehicle- The Ides of March
American Woman – The Guess Who
Love on a Two-Way Street – The Moments
For You Blue - The Beatles
The Long and Winding Road – The Beatles
