For part three in our series covering the music made by the legendary recording studios of the Memphis/Muscle Shoals area, we return to Rick Hall’s Fame Studios, where he sets up shop as an independent producer and manages to produce his first national hit song. In the process, he proves the old adage that nothing truly important ever comes easily.
