The Beatles: 1960
Episode 2
Episode date - September 2, 2011
1960 was the year that the Beatles began to get an inkling that they really could be a professional band. After a seemingly endless series of setbacks that would have destroyed the ambitions of less dedicated souls, John, Paul and George stuck it out.
I heard it say that the setbacks that don’t destroy you only make you stronger, and that most certainly was the case here. As 1960 unfolded, the future looked like it held some potential. There were still no signs of what was to come, but at least the Beatles began to believe that they could eke out a living by playing music.
