    This show starts with the Beatles capitalizing on their newfound recognition upon their return from Hamburg, with their own hometown treating them like the newest export from Hamburg, Germany!

    All that hard work in Germany had started to pay off, as the Beatles became a very confident unit, with an extraordinarily deep playlist consisting mostly of songs by their favorite American artists. The second trip Hamburg led to a recording session with Tony Sheridan (see Part 2 for coverage of that material), which inadvertently brought them to the attention of Brian Epstein, a young record store executive who was considering a career in management. By year’s end, Epstein was furiously shopping demos of ‘his boys’, including one very important session with Decca Records.

    Here we cover the songs that the Beatles performed for Decca. You can decide for yourself if the Decca executives were as foolish as history has proved them to be. Songs covered include;

    1) Searchin’

    2) Like Dreamers Do

    3) Money (That’s What I Want)

    4) ‘Til There Was You

    5) The Sheik of Araby

    6) To Know Her Is to Love Her

    7) Take Good Care of My Baby

    8) Memphis, Tennessee

    9) Sure to Fall (In Love with You)

    10) Hello Little Girl

    11) Three Cool Cats

    12) Crying, Waiting, Hoping

    13) Love of the Loved

    14) September in the Rain

    15) Besame Mucho
