There is no doubt that blues guitar had a huge influence on rock and roll. What is often overlooked is the role that the blues played in the RE-birth of rock and roll.

Circa 1962, it seemed that rock and roll was all but dead, but a very strange thing happened. English musicians had developed an obsession with American culture, and American Blues musicians were at the forefront of their obsession. So, when the British “Invasion” started in earnest, American kids were hearing young men from England playing songs that they learned from Black American Blues players.

Strangely, an entire generation of Americans learned a huge aspect of their own culture from British teenagers. This show celebrates a few examples of American blues musicians who has a significant impact on the rebirth of rock and roll.
