The Rolling Stones: Going Classic in the 90's
Episode 45
Episode date - July 25, 2014
By the late nineties, the Stones changed significantly as a band. It may not have been consciously deliberate, but the band shifted its focus from making new music to performing as a ‘classic’ live act.
With such a valuable backlog of material, the band set off on a series of record-breaking tours. The good news was the Rolling Stones were making more money than ever before, but the bad news is that the only new product for fans were a multitude of live albums and recycled hits collections, with the occasional new track thrown in as incentive for the completists. With little else happening, we are able to cover seven years of band history in one hour.
