    As the mid-seventies rolled around, the Stone might have looked to be tired and uninspired, but judging from this album, they still had plenty of steam.

    Yes, there were distractions galore, making it harder and harder to write or record with any regularity, and some of their lyric’s topics sounded a bit forced and/or contrived – the title more or less says it all, doesn’t it? – and yet the album plays like a coherent piece of work. While everybody else wondered if the Stones had lost their mojo, the band just kept on playing.
