A Fab Four Christmas Season
1973
Episode date - November 13, 2013
If you were a clever Christmas gift giver in 1973 (and perhaps a generous one at that), you could have gifted new albums by all four Beatles to your friends and family.
Three years after the most important group in the world disintegrated, the individual members were competing with one another for our attention. George’s album was released earlier in the year, but John, Paul and Ringo all timed their release dates to coincide with the holiday shopping season. It was nowhere near as exciting as a new Beatle album could have been, but as compensation, it did provide four times the output.
The releases themselves varied considerably in overall quality, so with this show, we’ll take an overview of the Beatle’s solo careers at this point in time.
