The Rolling Stones: Keith's Home at Nellcote
Episode 27
Episode date - March 7, 2014
Since Mick Taylor joined the band, the Rolling Stones seemed to take a very long time to release their material. For example, ‘Brown Sugar’ was recorded during their 1969 world tour, but was held back until 1971 for release. “Exile on Main Street” was delayed even more.
For tax purposes, the band relocated to the south of France in early 1970 and eventually started recording at Keith’s residence, called Nellcote. Apparently, they were in no hurry. The resultant album, ‘Exile on Main Street’, considered by many to be the band’s magnum opus, eventually saw the light of day in May 1972.
This show covers some of the works in progress that took place during that period of time.
