By the Spring of ’67, even the personnel at Stax were in wonder about their widespread success.

Having big hits on the national pop charts was one thing, but crossing over to the rock and roll crowd, particularly the flourishing hippie audience of San Francisco, seemed like an impossible dream. Next, Europe proved to be completely in awe of the Stax revue that rolled through their continent. It was a time of awe, and to enjoy the fruits of so much hard work. This show features songs from the Spring and Summer of 1967.
