As 1965 ended, America was adapting to the new sound of rock and roll as pop music, as presented by the British Invasion.

With only two exceptions, every song in today’s show dates from October to December 1965 and were written and performed by Americans. The Beatles were still way ahead of the curve, though, as can be attested by their double-sided hit that was released in time for pre-Christmas sales. It was at this point where America’s folk music boom reignited as ‘folk rock’.
