How Music Changed

As 1968 unfolded, it followed the same basic form as 1967, but with a bit less patchouli oil and paisley.

Judging by the pop charts, the times seemed to be almost straightlaced and conservative, but with creativity still holding strong. Singles were still giving albums a run for the money, and in terms of longevity, singles actually seemed to have an edge over their long-playing competition.

    Featured tracks include:

    Words – The Bee Gees

    Honey – Bobby Goldsboro

Cry Like a Baby – The Box Tops

    Lady Madonna – The Beatles

Since You’ve Been Gone – Aretha Franklin
