As 1955 progressed, so did the advancement of rock and roll as a viable popular style.

What started with a few doo-wop recordings and a country ump blues from Bill Haley and the Comets started a wave which would become a tsunami. The copycat artists were still stealing a lot of the rightful sales and artistic credit, but with Fats Domino, Chuck Berry and Little Richard all suddenly appearing on the scene, there was less and less room for the copycats, and those who were actively trying to ‘protect’ American culture from the barbarian hordes were soon to learn that they were fighting a losing battle.
