The British Invasion: Embracing Pop Trends
Episode 15
Episode date - November 12, 2010
For reasons that defy any logical explanation, it seems that the pop music coming out of England in late 1966 had a decidedly British flavor to it.
As the year neared its end, references to American rock and roll and blues artists were less prevalent - even Eric Burdon and the Animals seemed to be embracing pop trends. In their place were florid arrangements inspired by British culture and the burgeoning psychedelic movement, making this one of the more interesting stages of the British Invasion.
