Up until now, we’ve mostly covered studio recordings (and a few demos) released by the Kinks. In 1967, the band released an LP of live recordings to represent their raw, live sound.

Compared to the lighter, more thoughtful songwriting style that both Ray and Dave were developing, it sounded like a bit of a throwback at the time, maybe even old-fashioned, when compared to their studio recordings. Still, it serves as a very good document of their live sound, so this show is mostly dedicated to the live side of the band.
