The Kinks: Think Visual
Episode 37
Episode date - July 7, 2018
As the ‘80s progressed, The Kinks found themselves in a position similar to what was happening with every classic rock and roll band.
Suddenly, and without warning, bands like the Who, the Rolling Stones and the Kinks appeared to have lost their relevance, and market share dropped. Maintaining relevance for a few years is hard enough, but doing so for over two decades is a virtual impossibility.
The Kinks were especially vulnerable, as the trend coincided with a change in labels and management. Once again, the band found themselves in a downturn. Despite it all, Ray and Dave still managed to turn out a pretty good album that was (and remains) underrated.
