We’ve  already covered the earliest years of jazz development, but as jazz started to mature, the music remained just as invigorating, and perhaps continuously more challenging.

The collection does not move in a strict chronological order, but rather presents artists in the timeframe that best represents them, even if the track is recorded at a later date, as we see here with our first track , Ella Fitzgerald’s 1964 recording of “You’d Be So Nice to Come Home To”.

    Featured tracks include:

You’d Be So Nice to Come Home To – Ella Fitzgerald

Willow Weep for Me – Art Tatum

Too Marvelous for Words – Art Tatum

Organ Grinder’s Swing – Jimmie Lunceford and his Orchestra

Rockin’ Chair – Gene Krupa and his Orchestra

I Can’t Believe that You’re in Love with Me – The Chocolate Dandies

When Lights Are Low – Lionel Hampton and his Orchestra

Dinah – Quintette of the Hot Club of France

Doggin’ Around – Count Basie and his Orchestra

Taxi War Dance – Count Basie and his Orchestra
