As the year 1964 began to wind down, the Beatles could do anything but. If they had even a moment to reflect on the whirlwind of activity (very successful activity) that encompassed their days, they almost certainly would have felt overwhelmed.

However, the fact is that they were simply too busy to reflect on anything other than the tasks at hand. Make an album – promote the album – do a series of shows – write new songs for a movie- make the movie – promote the movie – write more songs for the movie album… This just went on and on and on. No sooner did they complete their American tour than they were obligated to start yet another tour of Great Britain…oh, and while they were busy doing that, they were also expected to come up with a fresh batch of songs for a new album, to be completed in time for the year end holiday season.

The four Beatles took all of this in stride, and commenced to prepare their fourth album in much the same way as they recorded their second album, by mixing a few favorite tunes that they recalled from their Hamburg days and mixing them with their own newer material. This show features a few of the recording sessions that took place while they prepared material for their next release.
